Aida was adopted from an orphanage in Armenia. She was born with Primary Congenital Glaucoma which is an eye disease that affects children at birth but may not show signs until as late as age three. This was left untreated due to neglect from the orphanage staff for seven years the result of this has left her with severe visual impairments. Aida is now eight years old.
